Remove God, Then What?

What parent with half a brain would leave their children at home, day or night, without
adult supervision? I know some parents do just that, but does that really demonstrate responsible thinking?

There are at least two primary reasons to be sure there is a responsible adult who will be there with the children until the parents return home. One reason is to protect them from harm. The other is to prevent them from doing things they should not be doing.

When we remove God from our lives there is no one to protect us and keep us from doing things we should not do.

Two very good reasons God gave His Ten Commandments to not just Israel, but to all human societies to obey, is to protect us and to keep us from doing things we should not do.

Over fifty years ago God was still a strong presence in our society. We were still children, so to speak, and more than capable of getting into trouble, but His Laws usually kept us within certain boundaries. However, consider where we have come since we removed God and any influence of Him from our society.

Our sins against others, and particularly against God, have blown the top off the chart. We are out of control in any area of society you may wish to address.

If children are left at home with no adult supervision for an extended time, what happens? In all likelihood, they will get into mischief. It may be minor or they may literally tear the house down with wild parties. Children get bored. It’s human nature. They embrace excitement, and when that wears off, they embrace something more exciting, then they move on to something else until they are in over their heads. Sounds to me like we adults have the same problem when there is no one there to say, “No.”

When I was in college I noticed immediately that some of my fellow classmates, not all, went nuts with things I assume they would not be doing if they were home under their parent’s supervision.

As an adult, I have had to attend many out of town meetings (when I was working), some lasting a day or two and some lasting a week. Again, there is always that crowd that goes bonkers when they get out of town and no one is there to hold them responsible for their actions. It got so bad one time, the president of our company considered cancelling any future meetings.

It doesn’t matter how ‘goody-goody’ we think we are, human nature has a tendency to get stupid when given the opportunity. I have seen some folks thoroughly ‘plastered’ and heard of a few who took the opportunity to skinny-dip in a pond. Only God knows what went on behind closed doors.

My point is that we, via SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States), have removed the boundaries God has laid down for us to follow. Therefore, there are no boundaries, and we as a society have gone absolutely out of our mind. We are mandating laws upon the people of this country that are clearly and without argument against everything God stands for.

Non-Christians and therefore society remains under the Law of God, the Ten Commandments, whether we reject them or not. The Law is our ‘babysitter.’ The Law leads us to faith in Jesus Christ.

“Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith.” (Galatians 3:24 NASB)

Since we have rejected the Law that leads us to Christ, what then? More and more people fill the gaping hole of hell because they reject the only ‘road sign’ to salvation. The Law LEADS us to Christ, so that we may be justified by FAITH.

In my opinion, I see our rejection of God as a wild party that is out of control. Drugs and alcohol are abundant. Cigarette butts and drug paraphernalia are strewn everywhere. For some, the drunks are hugging the toilet while those high on drugs are in their own world. For the rest, sex is rampant and fights are breaking out. Soon, the neighbors will have enough and the police will be called. A likely outcome when boundaries are not honored.

We have kicked over the fences God placed for our good and now we are dealing with a society that is drunk on feeding their own desires. Man has always been self-centered, but we have broken the mold of egomania.

Crime rates reach to the sky, while morality sinks to the gutters, because we decided we don’t need God. There is only one direction a person or a country can go when they snub their nose at their Creator, and that is final destruction.

It’s going to get more and more unpleasant for true Christians in this country because the society we are part of does not and will not acknowledge Almighty God. Their rebellion will strike out at Christians because true Christians stand as a constant reminder of … God.

Satan is ‘stirring the pot’ of rebellion in preparation for a period known as the Tribulation. When that time comes nothing will be held back in his attempt to dethrone our Lord. Unfortunately for the many souls under his influence, Jesus will at that time bring His own judgment down upon a rebellious earth.

God’s wrath is a terrible thing for those at the receiving end. From Revelation 6-18 the Lord tells us how He will judge this earth and bring the “apple of His eye” back to Himself.

The Scripture says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7) If you wish to avoid His wrath come to Jesus today believing. Put your faith solely in Him and you will be safe in the arms of God.

The world is going mad around us. Who of us could have imagined that America would be in the rebellious state against God it is in today? Regardless of what goes on around us, let us keep our eyes upon Him. They may take everything we have, even our life, but they cannot remove us from the hand of Almighty God.

“And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.” (1 Thessalonians 1:10)

“For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10)
